A setting which is intended to be quite easy, whilst interesting, for church choirs. Set for SATB (no divisi) with parts often singing as duets according to the text. The Magnificat also has very short solo lines for Sop and Tenor. Entries for each choir voice are kept as simple as possible, often using the same note as previously sung. Although the work modulates generally between C major and C minor/Eb major, this occurs naturally without uncomfortable intervals, and is well led by the organ manuals accompaniment.
A setting suitable for any 4-part parish choir. (Magnificat : 4:40 mins, Nunc Dimittis : 2:35 mins)
