“Angie” is a soft rock song by the famous rock band that appeared in London – The Rolling Stones. It was written by the band members Keith Richards and Mick Jagger in 1973 and released as part of the band’s 11th/13th (UK/US) album titled “Goats Head Soup”. The song is about the end of a romantic relationship. There were many versions as far as the title of the song goes – ‘who’s Angie?’ (Richard’s daughter, David Bowie’s 1st wife, Jagger’s former woman Marienne Faithful?). However, according to the authors, it was not related to any particular person. “Angie” conquered the music charts of many countries right from the start. It was most loved by the audience of the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Musically, it’s a ballad featuring acoustic guitar, distinctive piano by Nick Hopkins, Nick Harrison’s string arrangement and Jagger’s ghost vocals.

Unlike most of the Stones' compositions that were very aggressive and sharp both musically and lyrically (especially the early songs), Angie is something completely different. It's so soft, lyrical and tender that becomes a perfect piano ballad. Moreover, the piano melody played by Nick Hopkins in the original is a piece of cake for every pianist.
