“The Mansiona of the Lord” is a hymn written by the American director, screenwriter and songwriter Randall Wallace. The work was set to music by the English film score composer Nick Glennie-Smith known for his collaboration with the German colleague Hans Zimmer. Originally, the hymn was written for and appeared in the 2002 American film about the Battle of la Drang – “We Were Soldiers”, directed by Wallace. In the movie, it is performed by the U.S. Military Academic Glee Club. Besides the film, the song was also used at Ronald Reagan’s funeral in 2004 where it was performed by the Marine Chamber Orchestra of the USA. The Welsh Morrison Orpheus Choir also featured the song on their same-titled CD.
