Spelunkers is an original teaching piece for intermediate piano which features an ABA form. This impressionistic piece depicts cave exploration, in which the silence of the cave is punctuated by mineral water dripping from the limestone and the sounds of cave explorers. The uneventful journey is interrupted in the middle by a frantic scramble to run from scary animals in the cave.

The music is written for small hands, with prominent figures including clusters of major and minor seconds. The piece provides an opportunity to practice jumps of large intervals.
