When Daisies Pied and Violets Blue - for soprano, baritone, bass and piano – (closing scene of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labours Lost) (B62) This is an arrangement made by the composer in 1992 for voices and accompaniment of the last scene of his early opera Love’s Labours Lost [completed in 1976]. The soprano should sing lightly and the bass with a lack of expression, but the baritone should be over-emphatic, especially in the falsetto passages. The accompaniment is extremely simple as the piece was written for an inexperienced accompanist working with more accomplished singers.
