I had originally arranged this piece for Woodwind Quintet. Recently, I received a request to make a Saxophone Quartet version. The idea was intriguing to me and this is the result.
I must say that it presented some challenges. Reducing the score from five to four voices was probably the least of these. The similar timbres and limited range of the saxophone offered the most challenge. I think the results are actually pretty good and I hope Saxophone players will enjoy playing it.
I apologize in advance for the accompanying mp3 file. MIDI is not my forte as I and sure you can tell from some of the articulations.

This depiction of the Priests of Dagon dancing appears in the 3rd act of Saint-Saens' opera "Samson et Delila". Set in melodic minor it evokes images of debauchery from iron age Mesopotamia. Sounds like they had a pretty good time.
It lends itself well to a quintet setting even without the tympani. It's fun to play and entertaining to hear.

Here is my arrangement for cello quartet of Camille Saint-Saëns's Dance Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah.
Taking its name from Bacchus, mythological god of wine and fertility, a bacchanale is a dance that puts a premium on sensuality and abandon. Saint-Saëns’s Bacchnale opens with a twisting melody that could charm a snake from its basket. This is followed by a passage that begins as though it might have come from a nineteenth-century Parisian dance hall. These elements alternate until the appearance of a lovely tune, full of longing; but the music hall and snake-charmer music have the final words.
