The Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss, Opus 314
This arrangement shortens the original piece, while still retaining all of the most famous parts. Each part gets their turn to play the melody, lead harmony, secondary harmony, and bass line parts.
This piece has been arranged in a manner allowing for a wider range of groups to perform it, allowing for a group at a high school level or above to play it. All parts are written in bass clef, and no notes above A4 are required of any players. Some parts may occasionally have ossia passages notated that are more difficult, but these are optional.
This arrangement is not currently part of any compilation of arrangements available for sale by Bloux Note Music.
Though this arrangement is for cello quartet, an optional double bass part has been included should a player be available.

Johann Strauss' "The Beautiful Blue Danube" is set in an arrangement for Woodwind Quintet. This is the full stage version originally written in 1866. I have included all 4 waltzes and the Coda arranged from the original orchestral score.
One of the iconic pieces from 19th century literature, this piece would be an excellent addition to any performance.

That’s a ‘very’ symphony! Very elevated, very festive and very luring. It makes me fall in love with the dance music of those times. The Beautiful Blue Danube is the embodiment of the royal splendor and grace for me. The younger Strauss, having acquired the fame of the waltz king proved to be a decent belonging to the renowned Strauss family by works like this one.

A very popular composition – in some way an unofficial hymn of Austria and it is traditionally performed encore at the new year concert in Vienna. A wonderful piece. The author managed to convey in a colourful and realistic manner the spirit, power and energy of the great river. You can feel the splendor of nature and joy of a new day. You feel as if you are surrounded by light and airy haze flowing above the water.
