Ten little two-part inventions in a variety of keys, tempos, metres, and styles, employing various types of counterpoint, including canonic imitation of several kinds. These pieces may be used with piano students in the very early grades (RCM 1-4 approximately) as preparatory studies for the Bach Inventions; they might also serve as models of two-part writing for beginning students of harmony, counterpoint, and composition.
