Para a Condição Humana is a symbolic piece that represented a personal viewpoint on what is the ephemeral existence of Man in the face of the world around him. Therefore, symbolist elements are present in my interpretation into music of this condition.

Throughout the piece, frozen landscapes are opposed to brief moments of light, and the progression of the piece is carried out almost entirely by the ostinato that begins in pizz. in the Cello. Alongside this ostinato, the beginning motif which is firstly presented by the first violin and the melody first played by the cello are the elements that make the linear layers of the slow sections.

The central part, through its different character, is linked to worldly passions.

With a ternary form (A-B-A'), the recapitulation (A') is characterised once again by the initial calm landscape and, later, by the ostinato in pizz, although now it is interrupted by a brief section which comes as a breath of fresh air in the middle of the heavy pace of the music.

The piece's finale has a quietly conclusive character, however, it does not end in its initial key (D minor), but rather in its relative major key (F major), thus attempting to demonstrate that the human condition does not have a definitive, or at least known, final character or fate.
