The piece gained great popularity after it was included in the 1952 French film "Jeux Interdits" (Forbidden Games) as part of the soundtrack. The guitarist who played this work in the film was the Spaniard Narciso Yepes.

The version that you hear in the recording included on this page is played by me. It starts with a short introduction I composed. I thought there was something missing before the well-known melody starts, so I decided to write a brief passage as an opening statement. I did try to create with these few measures a musical idea that will blend with the character of the whole composition. I hope you like it.
