Are there any questions left unanswered for the string quartet?
The answer is very difficult. The repertoire of the string quartet is extensive. Writing a string quartet is like a gamble for any composer. 99% chance of failure and only 1% chance of adding to the history of this heavy repertoire. Is this gamble worth it? Ah, never mind my friend! It makes me proud to see and hear the news of the first performance of Quartet No. 1 one day. I am thinking of composing a set of 15 string quartets. Remember Beethoven! For gambling pleasure,! For those not included in the string quartet repertoire! It will be worth it.
