“Dear Prudence” is a song released by English rock band The Beatles in 1968 as part of their album “The Beatles”(“The White Album”). It was written by John Lennon in India during the band’s visit to meet and study with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. However, the song is credited to both Lennon and McCartney. The creation of the song was inspired by the sister of Mia Farrow, Prudence, who at a certain point became too obsessive with meditation and locked herself up in her cottage impatient to reach God as fast as possible. The song was Lennon’s call for her to come out and socialize. According to John Lennon, “Dear Prudence” is among his favorite compositions. Among the most popular covers of the song are the versions by Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Jerry Garcia Band.

I like thIs arrangement. Slightly simplified but consistent in melody and harmony. A great way to start getting acquainted with The Beatles legacy.

ein von Beatles geschriebener Song ist fast immer automatisch toll. eine sehr schöne, zeitlose Ballade, heute eine wirkliche Klassik. hat eine besondere, ganz kuriose Atmosphäre.

Why doesn't music like that get written or at least aired on radio nowadays? Love the Beautiful guitar here, innocent song text and very 'kind' tune in general. The legendary Beatles, always up-to-date
