Originally, “Knock on Wood” is a song written by the famous American soul and R’n’B singer known as Eddie Floyd together with the soul/blues guitarist Steve Cropper. It was released in 1966 and became a hit in the US, peaking at the 28th position of the Hot 100. The song was covered multiple times by some of America’s and Europe’s most famous performers including Amii Stewart, Razzy Bailey, Eric Clapton, Safri Duo, to name a few. The blues rock version above is the “Knock on Wood” cover by the famous English rock legend and one of the most influential artists David Bowie. It was released in 1974 as a single from his live album titled “David Live” and charted in some countries.

An excellent arrangement! That's a real close one in terms of accuracy and at the same time it's made for an easy start off for beginners. Learning to play Bowie on your own gives you a unique sensation of almost-touching the legendary rock legacy..
