“One” is a song from the 1991 “Achtung Baby” album by the famous rock band from Ireland – U2. Also released as a single in 1992, the song soon topped the charts in Ireland and the UK. The lyrics were written by the group’s leading singer Bono while the guitarist The Edge’s chord progression was taken as the basis of the melody. “One” was created when the group was almost about to break up, it served as common inspiration to go on creating music together. Later the song was used to promote social causes and defending human right within U2 concerts and campaigns. The version featuring Mary J. Blige was recorded in 2005 for the singer’s album “The Breakthrough”.

I'm glad they re-recorded this song. It really is powerful itself, but Mary's RnB touch made it more lyrical and harmonious

Großer Song, Meisterwerk der Rockmusik, eines der besten Musikstücken überhaupt.
