Nancy Van de Vate is an American composer residing in Vienna, Austria. Her music has been critically acclaimed worldwide and brought her multiple nominations for Pulitzer Prize and Grawemeyer Award. Nancy took music studies at Wellesley College (BA in music), the University of Mississippi (Master of Music degree in Composition), Florida State University (Doctor of Music degree in Composition), Dartmouth College and the University of New Hampshire (post-doctoral work in electronic music). She composes in all music forms, from solo instrumental works and chamber pieces to full-length operas. Nancy is also a sought-after teacher and lecturer, President of the recording company Vienna Modern Masters and founder of the International League of Women Composers.
